I went to Sidney yesterday with the lovely Carly Dame to get our thrift shopping on and of course we had to break to snap some pictures of our ensembles. Currently this is on of my favourite outfits; I love the mix of black and white patterns with just a splash of red. I grew up with my mom wearing her Champagne d’Argent sweater when she would go to rabbit shows (they’re like dog shows) and doing chores. It wasn’t anything special then. I didn’t even remember she had it until 6 months ago when I was feverishly looking through her draws for some black tights and came across it. It was love at second sight.

When I find a look that goes together well I tend to wear it for several days in a row if I can get away with it. If I’m seeing all the same people I won’t do it, but different people? Yes. I will lazily grab the same clothes from my floor and assemble myself as a copy of the previous day. This is what happened yesterday.

Lots of love,

Kate

These photos are from a couple of weeks ago and I was having a really good hair day. I haven’t posted them for a while because I keep having battles with photoshop. I get the picture the way I think it looks good, upload it to the the blog, realize it looks completely different, fix it, upload it again, it looks okay, but maybe I should check what it looks like on my laptop, right? Omg-gosh-i-look-so-pale-and-blue. Better fix it. Annnnd now I look yellow.

So basically I go through this process multiple times and I usually end up not posting the pictures because I get so frustrated at working on something for so long and not having the end result I want. Victoria’s Wardrobe is all about quality!!! hahaha

Does this happen to you? Or am I the only one going crazy?

Lots of love,

Kate

I went for a job interview a couple of weeks ago and the interviewers asked what I was interested and how I liked spending my free time. I haven’t thought of that question in awhile so I responded pathetically with, “I like playing soccer? and hanging out with my friends…?” They had to prompt me, because they had read a few post on my blog and saw that I liked the Blue Jays. Needless to say I didn’t get hired. However, it has prompted me to start getting back into things I liked to do and expand on the interests I currently have.

Things I like doing:
Reading: I love reading. Harry Potter is my favourite. I actually read the entire series to the 9 year old boy I was looking after as an au pair. Recently I joined a sci-fi/fantasy book club at work and the first book we’re reading is Brave New World. Oh and I’m also on the Game of Thrones bandwagon – you should probably hop on as well.
Golfing: Even though I’m not great at it I always enjoy going out for a round of golf with my Dad.
Photography: I love taking pictures of people and whenever my friends and I go for adventures I’m alway the one with a camera.
Soccer: I’ve been playing soccer since I was 4, so its always been a big part of my life.

That’s all I can think of right now, but I’m sure I’ll post a part II soon enough.

Big thanks to Carly for taking all these lovely pictures! Be sure to check out her blog Style Snapshot.

Lots of love,

Kate

Motivation has always been something I’ve struggled with and that’s why I always seem to take prolonged absenses from blogging. However, I met up with Carly this past Friday and we just had to take some outfit pictures! In July we drove by this motel along Dallas Rd. and both had the exact same thought – “this would be amazing for photos!” So two months later here we are.

This is my take on the sporty trend that keeps popping up on blogs and lookbooks of late. I bought my Blue Jays hat when I was in Toronto in August just before I watched them lose epically to the Oakland A’s 14-6. I still love them. But not everyone has love for the Jays. I had a guy come into my work while I was wearing my hat and offer me $30 to burn it. A little extreme, but sports fans are their own type of crazy. All I could do was laugh.

Lots of love,

Kate

My friend Marion is in town from Germany, so my last few days have been spent being a tour guide. We’ve meandered around downtown taking in the sites and sounds. I even went inside the Parliament buildings for the first time! I’ve only lived in Victoria my whole life… Parliament was in session, so we got to witness the MLAs wildly banging their tables in support of their party’s speakers. It was quite entertaining.

Marion and I will be leaving for Montreal and Toronto on Tuesday! I’m so excited. We’re going to Osheaga, a Blue Jays game and of course much more.

Lots of love,

Kate
